Welcome to the UK's National Rural Evangelism Network
The rural communities of the United Kingdom provide one of the most challenging contexts for ministry and mission. Apporoximately one person in six in the UK live in a rural settlement of under 5,000 with most of these in villages of 1,000 or fewer.
![]() | Each village and market town is unique and a complex mix of people groups. The nature of many rural communities will have changed significantly in the past twenty years. To help the Christians and churches in rural UK rise to the challenge of living out and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ the Rural Evangelism Network brings together the most experienced rural evangelists, researchers, writers and teachers on rural evangelism from across the Churches and mission agencies. |
The major Christian denominations with presence in the rural areas are represented here as well as those evangelistic agencies that specialise in or are active in rural areas, and we seek through sharing our experience and insight to encourage best practice in rural mission.
